Eva's music is a lively mix of blues, folk, country, rock, "torch songs" with 1940s-50s styling, latin/tex-mex, and a wide range of other popular and ethnic styles. She and the Band are inspired by a wide range of music and their tunes reflect that. She writes her music from her heart and most personal experiences of a life overcoming obstacles. In essense, her work comprises a series of musical "stories" celebrating a woman's survival in a hard world. Given some of the challenges she has faced in her life, it is truly amazing how joyful and fun Eva is. Her interaction with an audience is always special... both touching, energizing and fun!
Her collaboration in songwriting with Joe Carvalho has added a new dimension to her work and given her freedom to explore new musical directions and create music which can fully highlight the musical talents of her devoted band mates.
There are an ever changing group of talented musicians backing up Eva's soulful vocals; Joe Carvalho, musical arranger, and lead guitarist; Larry Dulong. back-up vocals, keyboard, piano, and accordion are the core of the Watershops Band. Peter King on Bass and Michael Konig on Drums complete the current bands line up. Each of these musicians excels at their craft and together they present one of the more unusual instrumentation mixes in the Valley.
The Band has played at numerous music festivals in the Region including The Eastern States Exposition, The Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton MA. Eva and the Band are also regulars at the Black Moon Music Lounge including headlining two special concerts at that important music venue in Belchertown. Bing Arts Center and Theodore's in Springfield. They have also appeared at a number of Connecticut and New York music venues in response to a growing fan base in the Northern region.
Most recently they have had a lot of success with their new videos that are out on "You Tube" evacappelli. Eva and the band are currently receiving air play on several local and internet radio stations.
(factoid: the name "Watershops Band" is in reference to Watershops Pond (now Lake Massasoit) in Springfield. Joe C's backyard abuts that body of water. His house in East Forest Park is the site of Watershops Studio where Eva's first cd was produced and recorded.)
